Charles Melvin “Chuck” Spence III, 63, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away on the evening of Friday, May 21, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
A native of Pennsylvania, Chuck was born on August 05, 1957 to the late Charles Melvin Spence II and Sarah Louise Turner Coleman.
Chuck was a very kind, loving, and patient soul with the ability to make others laugh with his incredible sense of humor. He was very talented with auto body restoration. He thoroughly enjoyed working on cars. He was also a generous man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. A loving husband and awesome step-father and grandfather, Chuck will be remembered as a family man.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Turner and Timothy Spence.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Harriet Lorraine “Lori” Spence; step-daughter, Hannah Dutton; two grandchildren, C.J. McManus and Savannah Boatwright; six siblings, Alton Harvey, Mary Reimer, John Harvey, Ruth Marshall, Ray Hamilton, Jr., and Linda LeClair; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special fur baby and sidekick, Mack.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
