Charles M. Clarke, age 79 of Medford died March 23, 2024 in Medford. He was born in Somerville on December 25, 1944 and was the son of the late James and Ruth (DeCecca) Clarke. Charles was a graduate of Saint Clement High School of Somerville in 1963. He was retired from the Siemens Corporation where he worked as a Payroll Processor. Charles lived for many years in Boone, NC where he loved seeing the mountains on his ATV with his family and friends. Chuck also enjoyed many outdoor activities, including flying his drone, fishing and taking target practice on his property. He had also lived in Florida, Texas, and Hawaii. 

He was the father of Jeremy Clarke, Sarah Hjelmstad and Travis Clarke. He was the brother of Ellie Clarke, Theresa Clarke and Jane Swanson. He was the grandfather of Brittany, Michaela, Kaleigh, Patti, Addison, Benjamin, Lucas and Lilliana. He was the great grandfather of Jarred, Ryland and Nevaeh. He was the father-in-law of Juli Clarke and Michelle Clarke. He was the brother-in-law of Paul Swanson. 

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his “best friend,” his West Siberian Laika dog, Brady. He is predeceased by his former wife, Patricia (Clancy) Clarke.

His Funeral Mass will be held in The Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden on Wednesday, March 27 at 10:00am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham prior to the Funeral Mass beginning at 8am.
