He was born on September 10, 1943, in Brownwood to Cecil Franz Coffey and Frances Lunsford, and later blessed with the loving guidance of his step-mother, Cleo Coffey.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Elizabeth Coffey, and his brother Otis Coffey.

Charley was a proud graduate of North Texas University and faithfully supported Christian Worship Hour, Samaritan's Purse, Wounded Warrior Project, and Tunnel to Towers. He spent many decades in the restaurant industry, where he not only operated several successful establishments of his own but also found joy in mentoring others. Helping others succeed was one of his greatest passions.
A man of deep generosity, Charley was known for giving freely to others; he never hesitated to help anyone who needed him. He loved his family fiercely, cared deeply for every person in his life, and made it his mission to share the love of Jesus with those he cherished.
Charley loved golf and treasured the time he spent on the course with his golfing buddies, but nothing meant more to him than the rounds he shared with his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and other family members, creating memories they will carry forever. He also had a lifelong affection for animals and was an avid pilot who loved being in the sky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center, 3016 Milam Drive, Brownwood, TX 76801, a place that reflects Charley's lifelong love for animals.
Charley will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and the immense love he carried for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in all who were blessed to know him.
