Charles Conte Obituary
March 8, 1930 - August 15, 2024
Charles Conte passed away August 15th, at ARK Healthcare, Branford Hills, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, the love of his life, for 66 years. He is survived by his children, David (Tricia) Conte, Robert Conte, and Susan (Kevin) Houlihan. Also, by his beloved grandchildren, David Conte, Angela Conte, and Alison Bradley; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Austin Bradley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chuck was born March 8, 1930, to Charles and Theresa Conte. He was predeceased by sisters, Lucille DeFrancesco and Barbara Gambardella, and his beloved daughter-in-law, Laurelle Moon Conte.
He graduated from Hillhouse High School, Bridgeport University, and Fairfield University Graduate School. Upon graduation, he was employed by the East Haven school system, where he proudly served as a teacher, coach, and school administrator for 35 years.
Chuck belonged to many groups and organizations, but the one dearest to his heart for over 40 years was the Wing Ding Golf Group at Alling Memorial.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday, August 21, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m., at W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, in Branford. Burial to follow at Saint Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Dining Room, 30 Harrison Avenue, Branford CT 06405.
