Charles E. Coughlin, has left behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by his surviving family and friends. Charlie, born on August 3, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on May 10, 2024 in Severna Park, Maryland.
During his life, Charlie touched the hearts of many with his caring and adored personality. He served his country with pride from 1955 to 1957 in the Army before embarking on a 35 year career in law enforcement retiring as a NYPD Lieutenant. His commitment to protecting and serving others was truly commendable.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charlie's greatest joy came from his family and lifelong friends. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones and created memories that will be forever held dear. Charlie is predeceased by his wife MaryAnn, daughter Elizabeth Ann Marino, son Michael, his father Michael, and his mother Margaret.
Charlie is survived by his children Charles (Sabrina) Coughlin, Kathleen Mary Buda, and Terence (Mary Ann) Coughlin. His presence will also be deeply missed by his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Their lives have been enriched by his love and wisdom.
A visitation to honor and remember Charlie Coughlin will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2024, at Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. The first visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a second visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM on the same day. A funeral mass will be held at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 10:15 AM.
In celebrating the life of Charles E. Coughlin, we remember a man who lived with integrity, kindness, and a deep devotion to his family and lifelong friends. His memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rest in peace, Lieutenant Charles E. Coughlin; your legacy lives on in the hearts of those you loved and who loved you in return.
