He was born December 21, 1946, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Clyde and Ethel Cumberlidge.
He was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, a Lifetime member of the Marshall County Hunting and Fishing Club and a Veteran of the US Army. He was a retired coal miner at Valley Camp and worked in Housekeeping at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Doris Jean Cumberlidge, brother, William Cumberlidge and step-daughter, Tammy Morris.
He is survived by his son, John Richard Cumberlidge of Moundsville; step-daughter, Sarah Jean (Raymond) Cooper of Steubenville, OH; four step-sons, Earnest C. (Kelly) Abercrombie of Cambridge, OH, Thomas Dee (Cindy) Abercrombie of Mingo Junction, OH, Todd E. (Martha) Abercrombie of Wheeling, WV, Wayne A. (Joyce) Abercrombie of Wellsburg, WV; three brothers, Marshall Cumberlidge of Wheeling, WV, Robert Cumberlidge of Wheeling, WV, John Cumberlidge of Wheeling, WV; grandson, Nathanial Cumberlidge; grandchildren, Raymond Cooper, Rebeecca Morris, Andrew Cooper, Tonia Black, Ernest Abercrobie, Kenneth Abercrombie, Ryan Abercrombie, Thomas Abercrombie, Leanna Gump, Heather Abercrombie, Shelly Abercrombie, Wayne Abercrombie, Jr., Charles Abercrombie and Andrew Joseph; and over 45 Great Grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 10 am until the time of services at 12 noon at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311)
