Funeral service for Charles L. Curry, of Delta, will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. George Robinson and Rev. Larry Riddle will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm.
Charles L. Curry passed away at home the morning of January 14, 2025, at the age of 81. A passionate believer in the salvation offered through faith in Jesus Christ, he is now rejoicing in heaven with his savior.
His life and homecoming will be celebrated by his two sons Wade Curry (Cyndi) and Shannon Curry (Michelle), grandchildren Adrianne Curry, Rylie Curry, Ryan Curry, Karianne Curry, aunt Ossie Reid, brothers David Curry (Sandra), Keith Curry (Laura), and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Now in Heaven, Mr. Curry joined his beloved wife, Martha. He is also preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruth Curry, sister Dean Curry, brother Bruce Curry, and several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Curry was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and member of New Haven Baptist Church. He was a devout follower of Christ and hardworking laborer for the gospel who always sought to use his skills and craftsmanship for God by serving others and the church.
Mr. Curry and his wife were deeply committed to supporting the missions efforts of New Haven Baptist Church and other organizations, knowing the importance of sharing the lifesaving gospel of Jesus Christ to all people and all nations.
One of Mr. Curry's greatest priorities and joys was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and modeled the steadfast love of a Godly father to his family. They are forever grateful for the care he provided, the lessons he taught, the jokes he shared, and the morals and faith in God that he passed down and instilled in their lives.
Mr. Curry retired from Monsanto and was an EMT and firefighter there. He enjoyed farming and raising cows for many years.
In his free time, he loved appreciating God's creation by caring for his farmland and observing the wildlife that benefited from his care and attention. He enjoyed sharing about the deer, turkeys, and many song birds who visited the property.
Mr. Curry was a Godly servant and worked tirelessly to serve others his entire life. He was hardworking, always putting others before himself and doing everything to his fullest extent for the glory of the Lord. His wit, care, and attentiveness will be appreciated and missed by all.
