Opelousas—A Memorial service will be held for Charles Del Bueno on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., by Fr. Pete Smith in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. An inurnment will be held at a later date.
Charles was a loving son, father, grandfather, and a vibrant individual, he loved playing and coaching baseball, dedicating countless hours to nurturing young talent on the field. His commitment to the game provided not only a source of joy for himself but also an invaluable experience for those he mentored. Additionally, his love for basketball and cycling reflected his active lifestyle and desire for wellness.
Charles possessed a remarkable artistic flair. His creativity was evident in various forms and avenues, showcasing his ability to express himself through art. This talent added yet another dimension to a life well-lived, capturing the vibrancy of the world around him.
He is survived by his mother, Theresa Del Bueno; two daughters, Lauren Del Bueno and Haley Del Bueno; one grandchild, Shiloh Boggs; aunt, Dianne DeJean; special friend, Cathy Durham; and best-friend, Jamie Bacon.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Del Bueno, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jack Del Bueno, Sr., and Cecile Del Bueno; and maternal grandparents, Daniel Gaspard and Rose Gaspard.
He will be remembered not just for his skills in sports and art, but also for the warmth he brought to the lives of everyone he encountered. Charles had an extraordinary way of making friends and family feel cherished and important. His laughter was infectious, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
As we remember Charles Del Bueno, let us celebrate a life led with passion, friendship, and the relentless pursuit of joy. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who carry forward the kindness and creativity he embodied.
