Charles David Dierig, 82, of California, KY, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2024 at Saint Elizabeth Fort Thomas, KY. He was born August 8, 1942 in Fort Thomas, KY to his late parents, Harry and Elizabeth (nee Reed) Dierig. Charles was a United States Army veteran and served from 1961-1964 in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He recently had the honor and the privilege of flying to Washington D.C on the Honor Flight in 2023. He was a retired truck driver for Smith Transfer. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Ann Dierig (nee Butsch); three children: Kathy (Jeff Wells) Coffey, Jayne (Dan) Pangburn and Christopher (Doug Maxwell) Dierig; five grandchildren: Jessica (David) Jenkins, Cody Coffey, Kara Pangburn, Ryan (Erika) Pangburn and Kristin Pangburn; one great-granddaughter, Emerson Pangburn; six siblings: Patricia (Al) Merkle, Donald Dierig, Walt (Fran) Dierig, Carol (Dick) Butsch, Jerry (Judy) Dierig and Tom Dierig; three sisters-in-law, Pauline Dierig, Jean Brenning, and Mary Dierig, and many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Michael Coffey; twelve siblings: Dick Dierig, Bob (late wife Marge) Dierig, Suzie (late husband Pat) McCoy, Jack (late wife Joan) Dierig, Shirley (late husband Lexy) Ford, Ann (late husband Lee) McManus, Jim Dierig, Ron (late wife Rosemary) Dierig, Paul Dierig, Mary Lou (late husband John) Brooks, Claire Dierig and Winona Dierig. Visitation will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 2162 California Crossroads, California, KY 41007 from 3:00 PM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Church or to The Point Arc of Northern Kentucky, 104 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011. Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
