Charles (Chuck) E. Dove, 80 of St. Pauls, NC, passed away on Feb 7th 2025 from a long stint with Parkinson’s Disease and Heart Disease. He was a Hope Mills boy, high school football player, Merita breadman, and ABC general manager. Chuck spent most of his life as a country boy and a great friend to many. He loved to laugh and cut up with the boys and enjoyed the “Down Memory Lane” group when he could. He loved to take day trips all over the Southeast, the Amish country and to the Florida Keys. He always satisfied Ann by having a plethora of cats, dogs, chickens, goats and a garden in the yard.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Jean Dove of Hope Mills, and stepdaughter, Tammy Musselwhite.
He is survived by his wife Ann Dove of St. Pauls, his three children Jenny Scott (Jerry) of Hope Mills, Chip Dove (Vanessa) of Citrus Springs Florida, Lewis Dove (Patty) of Hope Mills, and the mother of their three children, Pat Dove of Hope Mills. He is also survived by two stepsons, Sean Matuszewski (Mariamelia) of Hope Mills and Eric Matuszewski (Sabrina) of Lumberton.
Chuck was blessed with multiple grand and great-grandchildren including Joshua Scott (Amber), Alex and Nathan Scott, Julia Halsey (Blake), Kyle Dove (Lauren), Maggie Dove, Daniel Dove, Amanda Dove, Melissa Settle, William Settle, Anna Victoria Matuszewski, Nicholas Matuszewski, and Christian Matuszewski. Chuck is also survived by his four sisters and one brother, Pam McInerney (Brian) of Spokane Washington, Glynda Lawrence of Raleigh, Lynda Averitt of Raeford, Steve Dove (Charlotte) of Dunn, and Cindy Paschall (Michael) of Rougement and loved by many extended relatives.
Services entrusted to McNeill - Legacy Funeral Home of St. Pauls. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Green Springs Baptist Church, 1085 E. Green Springs Church Rd, Parkton NC 28371.
