Charles "Chuck" Evans Drum passed away September 10, 2024, in Spring Branch, TX, at the age of 56, following many years of battling CTE. Chuck was born the second child of Julie Marcienne Drum and Loren Hugh Drum on February 27, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas.
Throughout his brief lifetime Chuck lived out the highs and lows of his dreams. He was a delightful child and a popular, gifted student and athlete. After graduating from Clark High School and attending UTSA, he began his travels, served in the US Army as a medic in Germany, and eventually pursued his career as a country western singer/songwriter. In the mid-1990's he won an award as "Country Western Singer of the Year" in Germany and recorded several CD's during his career. In an automobile accident in Germany, he experienced one of the several TBI's of his lifetime and eventually returned to the US to recuperate. Chuck learned construction at his daddy's side and built (mostly houses) throughout his adult life. Having excelled as the "class clown" Chuck loved spending time with his sons and sharing their sports and music activities, as well as traveling with them. In December 2022 he suffered his final and worst TBI, resulting in his eventual death.
Chuck is survived by his sons Drake Alan Drum (30), Cadence Evans Drum (21), and Callan Emil Drum (18). He is also survived by Sheilalea Ernst, his former wife and mother of Drake; by Serenity Drum, his former wife and mother of Cadence and Callan; and by Elaine Robertson Drum, his former wife and stepmother to his sons. Chuck is also survived by his father, Loren, his mother Julie, his stepmother Debbie Drum, his brother Alan Drum (wife Bridget), and his stepsister Heather Weaver-Reichert. He was blessed with a nephew, Conner Drum, and nieces Kyndall Drum, Chloe Drum Brandenberg, and Kirstyn Drum, two great-nieces Brynlee and Emersyn Drum, as well as beloved aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends.
Military honors and interment will be performed at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on November 29, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, 206 Flintstone Drive, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
