Charles "Chuck" Anthony Duncan, born on June 1, 1950, in Austin, Texas, lived a full life rich with his love for family, friends, dominos, and veterans. Known for his larger-than-life spirit, Charles approached life with resilience, wit, and an appreciation for those around him. He was a proud Austin native whose passions were traveling and serving fellow veterans.
A dedicated advocate for veterans, Charles devoted much of his life to ensuring their voices were heard and their needs met. This commitment earned him recognition as a trailblazer by the original L.C. Anderson High School Alumni at their 50th Anniversary Gala in 2018-a testament to his enduring spirit and tireless dedication to his community.
Charles' passions were many, but few surpassed his love for dominos. A game he looked forward to playing against anyone willing to sit across from him. Beyond the game table, Charles carried the same energy and enthusiasm into every space he entered.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Verda Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Duncan, his four kids Me-Shelia Webb, Anthony Duncan, Jonathan Duncan (deceased), Bethany Bell and Byron Duncan, along with a host of family and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM at King-Tears Mortuary and Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
As we celebrate Charles' life, we invite family and friends to share their memories and photos on his memorial page. His adventurous spirit, love for others, and go-getter spirit will forever inspire us. In his honor, may we all remember to play our hands well and find joy in the journey, just as Charles did.
