Charles Henry Ervin was born September 7, 1942 to parents Willie and Arveal Ervin.
Charles was raised in the church growing up and accepted Christ.
Charles attended Detroit Public School system. While attending Mackenzie High School, he participated in track, graduated June 1961.
Charles served in United States Military Army from 1969 to 1973.
Charles attended Western Michigan University, graduating with Bachelors of Science.
Charles was employed with the Detroit Free Press, Dean Witter (stock broker) and the State of Michigan (department of transportation as a appraiser) where he retired.
Charles' son Albert was born, May 12, 1978; whom Charles loved dearly.
Charles loved all sports, his hobbies were walking, riding his bike, swimming, hanging out at the Recreation Center and exercising.
Charles departed his life on July 3, 2025. Preceded by death: parents, Willie and Arveal Ervin; sisters Cheryl A. Ervin and Evelyn A. Hunt.
He leaves to cherish: his son Albert (Martese); grandchildren Albert Jr., Charles and Martez; and a great-granddaughter Zariah; siblings Theresa, Willie Mae, Hattie (James), Winfred, Valeria (Bernard), Darrick, Brenda and Randall (Debra); special friend Juanita; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
