Charles Buddy Ewald, 83, of Negaunee Township, passed away Friday morning, February 14, 2025 at his home.
Charles was born June 5, 1941 in Ishpeming to Irving and Dorothy (Hupp) Ewald and attended Negaunee High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served during the Vietnam War.
Charles was employed with Cleveland Cliffs as a maintenance mechanic and blaster, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, feeding the wildlife, bon fires, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Suzanne (Denofre) Ewald; children: Sanrda (Michael) Ecklid, Richard Ewald, Deborah Ewald, Tracy Ewald and Christopher Ewald; three grandchildren: Amanda, Brandon and Shannon; three great-grandchildren: Autymn, Kiira and Skylar; his sister, Joan Kallioinen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Stephen Michael Ecklid.
Charles' family extends a heartfelt thank you to his sisters-in-law, Pam Denofre, Judy Montcalm and Jackie Baumler, and his niece, Kelly Kurin, for their wonderful care provided.
