Memorial services for Charles Daniel Finley, age 71 of Grayson, will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Buster Duplissey officiating. The family will have visitation prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Charles Daniel "Danny" Finley was born January 10, 1952, to the union of his parents, Arwood Lynn Finley, Sr. and Ouida Richmond Finley, and he passed from this life April 24, 2023, at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Danny enjoyed working in the oilfield and was a Safety Coordinator when he retired. A typical southern outdoorsman, he liked to hunt and fish. He was a very involved father and he spent a lot of time with his boys. When they weren't hunting or fishing, they were playing sports. Danny coached at times but also enjoyed just watching them play ball. He loved to sit and visit over a good cup of coffee. Many weekends were spent having cookouts for his family. Nothing was more important than spending time with them but he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandkids. Danny was preceded in death by his parents: his brothers, Arwood Lynn Finley, Jr. and Keith Finley; his step-mother, Mildred Finley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 45 of years, Karen Broussard Finley; sons, Tyler Finley and Jared Finley (Crystal); sister, Susan Finley; brothers, Kenny Finley, Sr. (Mary Jo) and Kris Finley (Corina); his grandchildren: Brandon, Brooke, and Ben; special brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Karen Simons, Hazel Derickson and Herbert Burns, Charles and Martha Lou Simons, and Linda and Sidney Martin; as well as a host of nieces, and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Cubbit, Bill Richmond, Kenny Finley, Jr., Kiel Guillory, Matt Richmond, and Wilbur Rucker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the special care provided by St. Francis CCU, Haven Nursing Center, and Ascend Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fellowship Cemetery Fund.
