With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles O. Foreman Jr., age 65, who left this world on Friday, February 28, 2025. Born on December 31, 1959, in Belhaven, NC, Charles was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived a life defined by hard work, love for his family, and a deep connection to the outdoors.
A man of strong work ethic, Charles spent most of his career as a large crane operator, a job that reflected his strength and steady presence. But beyond his work, he found his greatest joy in nature, especially fishing the creeks and spending time at the beach-a place that truly felt like home. Known affectionately as "Boomer," he could always be found near the shore, embracing the peace and beauty of the water.
Charles also had a great love for grilling and cooking, often bringing people together over a good meal. His passion for old cars was another defining part of his life, cherishing the history, craftsmanship, and nostalgia they carried.
Above all, Charles loved his children. He was the son of the late Charles Oliver Foreman Sr. and Janice Marie Foreman, and he is also survived by his biological mother, Shirley Krieg, and stepfather Kelly of Olympia, Washington. He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Dale Foreman Sr. of Bath, NC.
Charles leaves behind his loving family, including his children, Jason Allen Foreman and wife Tasha of Chocowinity, NC; Jennifer Foreman Rawls and husband Kevin of
Washington, NC; his brothers, Curtis Foreman and wife April of Goldhill, NC, and Hugh James Foreman of Chocowinity, NC; and his sister, Greta Foreman Compton and husband Keith of Salisbury, NC. Grandchildren, Vanessa Ruffin and husband Ty'Quez, Olivia and Jason Alexander Foreman; Trevor and Morgan Rawls. Great-grandbaby Silas. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the stories he shared, and the memories held by those who knew him best.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held on Saturday March 15th at Joseph B. Paul Jr.'s funeral home in
Washington, NC. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM.
In honor of his memory, those who knew him are encouraged to spend a moment by the water, cast a line, and remember the man who found his greatest happiness where the land met the sea.
Charles will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever be carried in the tides and the hearts of those who loved him.
