Charles Edward
Charles Edward Frechen, 83, of Muskegon, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
Charles was born April 26, 1941, the son of Edwad and Leona Frechen. He married the former Carol Cook in 2005. Charles worked at GM for over 30 years and worked hard to provide for his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Marys Catholic Church. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing, boating, and being outdoors. He was a strong-willed, opinionated, generous, caring man who will be deeply missed.
SURVIVORS
Wife, Carol; children, Edward Frechen, Kenneth (Lynne) Frechen, Steven Carroll, and David (Jill) Carroll; grandchildren, Dylan, Adam, Brandon, Rachel, and Charlee Marie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Leon.
SERVICES
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

I visited Michigan many times with my family as a child. My first memory of Charlie was a horseshoe game he and my dad were playing at Charlies' parents' cottage. Charlie had tied a small tree branch back around the trunk to keep it out of the way of the game. I asked who did it and Charlie responded it was done by a powerful storm called a "Michigander".

I´ll never forget when we moved in next door to Charlie and Carol and our kids instantly called him Santa. He was like another grandpa to them while we lived there and we are so thankful to have had him in our lives. The guys loved sharing their fishing stories with him.
