Charles Fryer, Sr., was born on August 2, 1939, in Westhoff, Texas, to Elizabeth Andrews Fryer and Lawrence Fryer, Sr. He was one of five children born to that union. Charles was a devoted son, brother, uncle and father that prioritized nothing above his family, extended family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and participating in other sports.

He accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX

On June 5, 1959, he was united in holy matrimony to D.I. Marie Floyd of San Antonio, Texas.
