Chuck was a Scoutmaster of Troop 41 Fitchburg and a lifelong advocate for Troop 41. When Baden Powell, the founder of world wide scouting passed, his tombstone had the map marker for home on it. Signifying that he had gone home. Chuck has gone home too after living a very gentle life. God bless. Troop 41 Fitchburg

Among many other things, Chuck taught me to read music. This led me to beauty and joy beyond what words can convey. He changed who I would become. He remains deep in my heart.

It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of my dear friend, Charles "Chuck" Funk.
Yet even as I grieve his loss, my heart fills with equally profound joy at the closely held memories of our time together.
I grew up with one sibling, my dear departed sister Callie Ann. My father passed away when I was seven, and times were hard. I met Chuck on my very first day of junior high school-he was in my homeroom. Soon after, I met his brother Tom, whom I quickly came to know as "Young Funk." Before long, I was visiting the Funk home regularly, where I met older brother Rich, sister Betsy, and the beloved "Mom Funk." The Funks became a second family to me, and I loved them all. Charles, Tom, and Rich were all brothers to me. Though we have sadly lost them, I am thankful to still share in the friendship of Betsy Nelson, Chuck´s sister, and Kathie Funk, Tom´s wife, my "Funk sisters."
I always stood in awe of Chuck´s remarkable intellect. He fed and nurtured my own academic pursuits and played a pivotal role in my decision to pursue an engineering career. At the same time, he was deeply spiritual, compassionate, and genuinely caring.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him-and he will live on just as dearly in our treasured memories.
