Charles R. Grainger, 77, Indianapolis, died April 4. He worked 43 years at Cincinnati Gas & Electric, retiring in 1989 as an electrical engineer. Previously, he taught at the University of Cincinnati and worked with Johnson Controls at Kwajalan, Marshall Islands. He was a veteran of World War II and a graduate of University of Cincinnati. He was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7119. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center at Washington Park East, with calling from noon. Burial: Washington Park East Cemetery. Survivors: wife Anna Schmalzl Grainger; children Debbie Linneman, Ronald, Michale Grainger; stepchildren Debbie Long, David Blamey; brothers George, Thomas, Edward Grainger; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild.
