Charles Dunn Harlow, Jr. Clarksdale, MS.
Charlie Harlow passed away on November 17, 2025, at his home in Clarksdale. Charlie was born on November 6, 1934, and lived in Clarksdale all of his life. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1956 and farmed with his uncles in Claremont for the early part of his working life. He later began a career in real estate, insurance, and appraisals, working first for W. L. Holcomb and then establishing Charles Harlow & Associates at 134 Sunflower Avenue, where he spent many years in the company of his friends, coworkers and office mates in a workplace that was always full of love and laughter.
Charlie was married to the late Marion Warfield Harlow for 31 years. Together they raised four children, whom he loved beyond measure. Charlie also loved Ole Miss football, tennis, chess, and gin rummy; but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his friends. He was quick witted and a gifted storyteller. He would be the first to say that he lived a long and happy life, with 91 years of great memories.
He is survived by his son Dixon and wife Brette Kirk of Jackson, MS; daughters Boyce and husband Steele Robbins of Greenwood, MS, Rivers and husband Jimmy Humber of Clarksdale, MS; grandchildren Kendall Kirk Singleton and husband Russ, John Sharp Kirk and wife Alex, Steele Robbins, Charlie Robbins, Evelyn Humber, James Humber; two great grandchildren, Kit and Beau; and his loving companion, Kitty Kossman; as well as his nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lucia Adams Harlow; son Hank Kirk; sisters Evelyn Harlow Grass, and Reedie Harlow McCaughan.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, November 23rd, at St. George's Episcopal Church in Clarksdale, MS, at 2:30 p.m., with visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 in the Parish Hall. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Charles Dunn Harlow Jr, please visit our floral store.
