Charles W. Hastie

Hastie, Charles W. "Chick" Beloved husband of Marilyn J. (nee Weber) Hastie. Born on March 16, 1933 to the late Charles and Zetta (nee Johnson) Hastie. Loving father of Mark and Christian Hastie, Michael Silverglade, and Craig (Lisa) Silverglade. Cherished grandfather to Matthew and Tim Wackler. Passed away on March 19, 2022 at the age of 89. Chick graduated from Western Hills High School in 1952. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War as a Corporal Combat Engineer from May 28, 1953 - May 28, 1955. In 2014, he had the privilege of taking part in the Honor Flight Tri-State. He retired from Cincinnati Bell after 36 years as a Switching Equipment Technician. Chick served in the Mack Volunteer Fire Dept for 15 years as a Lt on the Life Squad and was a Trustee for 22 years in Mack Fire Inc. He was the last surviving member of the original Mack Volunteer Fire Dept. He volunteered with the Hospital Host Unit at the Shriner's Hospital and he was a member of the Mason McMillian Lodge #141 and the Scottish Rite. Chick was also a member of the Telephone Retirees Group.
Visitation Monday, March 28th from 10am until time of Funeral Service which will include the Scottish Rite Ring Service and Mack Fire Inc Service at 12pm (NOON) at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 10385 New Haven Rd Harrison Ohio 45030. Burial with full military honors will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
