BRIDGEWATER----Charles H. "Chuck" Hemphill, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on July 25, 1931, in Concord, NH, to Charles and Augusta (Merrill) Hemphill, Sr., and was raised by Charles and Alice (Mylon) Hemphill, Sr.

Following graduation from high school, Chuck earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Plymouth Teachers College. He went on to teach in the late 1960's at the Bristol Elementary School. He then went to work at Speare Memorial Hospital working in many different positions in his 50 years with the hospital. At the time he retired he was working in Materials Management and often did courier work as well.

Chuck was a founding member of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to climb mountains and began a quest to climb all of the NH 4000' mountains before it became a goal for the general public. When he was at home, Chuck spent much time working on home projects, tinkering on equipment, and collecting his loved stuffed animals.

He is survived by his wife Helen (Smialek) Hemphill, of Bridgewater, NH; four daughters, Susan Frank, of Columbus, OH, Diane Whittaker, of Alstead, NH, Alice Mickewicz, of Bristol, NH, Linda Ingham, of Bridgwater, NH; a son John Hemphill, of Ravenna, OH; grandchildren: Kim, Drew, Katy, Zachery, Adam, Samantha, Ryan, James, Rachel, and Matthew.
