Louise Ann Hemphill, 95, of Burlington died Friday evening, Oct. 24, 2025, at OakView Nursing and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born on Oct. 19, 1930, in Oakville, she was the daughter of Lewis C. and Anna L. (Carlson) Jennings. On Aug. 19, 1949, in Morning Sun, she married Gerald M. Hemphill, who preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2014.
Louise was a 1948 graduate of Burlington High School. She retired from working for IRC/TRW. Louise was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Burlington Eagles Club, and Des Moines County Historical Society. She enjoyed her flowers and loved playing Bingo.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Mary Jane) Hemphill of West Burlington; four grandchildren, Shane Hemphill of Morning Sun, Mark Crooks of West Burlington, Jeff Crooks of St. Joseph, MI; and Carolyn Sueppel of Iowa City. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, and two sisters, Lois Breuer and Pauline Kraft.
A graveside service for Louise will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in Aspen Grove Cemetery in the Garden of the Cross, with Pastor Brooke Robbins officiating.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the Special Needs Foundation.
