Charlie was born in Marion, Indiana on February 2, 1946 to the late Betty Lou Jones and Warren Guy Hendey. Charlie was a Company Clerk, stationed in Germany while serving in the US Army from 1966-1968. After serving in the Army, he moved to Connecticut, married and had two daughters, Kristen and Dawn. They still live on the east coast.
Charles returned to Indiana and was employed by the Veterans Administration for 25 years. He loved his work helping veterans. Charlie was a member of the American Legion Post 313 and served as a past commander. Charlie loved life and valued his friends and family.
Charlie is also survived by two sisters, Donna (Dave Smrekar) Davis and Diana (Gailon Garling) Jones; nieces, Tana (Chad Haynes) Roby, Shawn (Barsha) Roby, and Shelia (Keith Clark) Kainz; nephews, Trace (Wanda) Roby, Jeremy (Karen) Jones, Travis (Kristi Mcfarland) Kainz, and Scott (Michele) Kainz; and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, Betty Lou Jones and Warren Guy Hendey; sister, Deborah J. Roby; and stepfather, Lynn F. Jones
Arrangements were entrusted to Mississinewa Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 200 North 7th Street, Gas City, Indiana 46933.
