Charles Hudson, 70, Joplin, Mo passed away February 4, 2026 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
Charles was born July 12, 1955 in Lubbock, Tx the son of Jimmy and Reba Luthena (Gipson) Hudson. He served in the United States Army and National Guard for over 20 years. Charles enjoyed wood working, fishing, and sports. He especially enjoyed pee wee and little league where he coached many teams over the years. Charles was know for telling long stories. He spent much of his time chasing after his grandchildren watching them participate in many sports and events. Charles owned the Joplin Crusaders from 2002 to 2014 winning multiple titles. He would often state "Go Army beat Navy " just to stir it up with other family members who served in the Navy. He was a member of the Mount Hope Church of Christ. Charles will be remembered for his strong values and loving deeply. His love for kids in which he continually looked after and cared for. Especially those children in need. Charles's smile will forever be engraved in everyone's memory.
Charles Hudson married Charlotte Hoffman and she preceded him in death January 16, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Charles married Cynthia Hicks July 19, 2015 in Joplin, Mo and she survives.
Additional survivors include his children; Jimmy Hudson and wife Cristi, Seneca and Kristin Hudson, Tulsa; a bonus daughter, Shannon Harris, Joplin, Mo; grandchildren, Gunner Hudson and wife Brooklynn, Ragan Hudson, Delayne and Jo Sohosky, Valerie Hudson and Edward Hudson, Trevor and Kye Harris, Great-grandchildren Bronx Sohosky and Charlee Sue Hudson; one brother Dennis Hudson and wife Linda and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10 am, February 14, 2026 at the Seneca Christian Church. The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, Mo.
