Charles Huff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel - Eaton Rapids on Oct. 1, 2025.
Charles Joe Huff of Springport,
Passed away September 21, 2025, at the age of 82. Charles was born in Lansing, MI, April 28, 1943, to Clifford and Bernice (Grieb) Huff. He was a 1961 graduate of Eaton Rapids High School. After high school, Charles proudly served with the US Marines during the Vietnam War where he sadly contracted the ill effects of Agent Orange. Following the war, he worked for General Motors and retired after 26 years. In 1967, he and his wife joined Robbins United Methodist Church where they remained for 58 years. Charles was also known as the "Pumpkin Man." He owned 10 acres of land that he dedicated specifically for growing pumpkins. Over the years, he generously gave away many pumpkins and met numerous families, enjoying the connections that were cultivated year after year. He also enjoyed his hobbies that included fishing, gardening, gambling and camping, especially on those trips to Frankfort.
Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Huff; sons, Clifford (Sherry) Huff of Eaton Rapids and Clark (Iris) Huff of Germany; grandchildren, Dustin, Trisha and Alyssa Huff; great grandchildren, Zoey Lynn-Riedy and Jaxon Mayhew; brother, Ted (Darleen) Huff; sister, Debra Gilpin. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joanne Wright, Phyllis Allison and Charleen Baumer.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday September 24, 2025, at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel.
