LuAnn Huff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Lapeer on Mar. 30, 2026.
LuAnn Rae (Sandeen) Huff, 84, of Lapeer, Michigan, formerly of Iowa and Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. She was born April 25, 1941, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Lawrence and Ruth Sandeen.

LuAnn is survived by her husband, Darrold Huff, whom she married on October 18, 1964. Together they raised three daughters: Suzanne (Steve) Halamka, Deb Howes, and Amy (Travis) Keister. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Chelsea (Nick) Barden, Zachary Halamka, Samuel Keister, Rook Howes, Sophia Keister, and Audrey Howes-and a great-grandmother to Blake and Jay Barden. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

LuAnn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and the deep joy she found in life's simple and meaningful moments.

LuAnn had a lifelong love of reading and could often be found with a good book in hand. A devoted sports fan, she never missed the excitement of March Madness, cheered passionately during college football season, and proudly supported her favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos. She and her husband also shared many special memories as season ticket holders for Colorado Eagles hockey, where she loved the energy of the games and the time spent together.

LuAnn was a wonderful grandma and cherished great-grandma, always offering love, laughter, and unwavering support. She treasured time spent with her husband-visiting casinos, going out to eat, attending rodeos, and traveling together. She especially loved traveling to visit her daughters and their families in Michigan, Minnesota, and Oregon. Those visits were among her most treasured times, filled with connection, laughter, and love.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to family that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lorrene (Bud) Bice.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Stone Soup Food Pantry, 475 S. Court St. Lapeer, MI 48446.
