Raymond Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Lapeer on Feb. 24, 2026.
Raymond Brown, age 44, of Ortonville, Michigan, passed away on February 19, 2026. He was born on August 17, 1981, in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Ray was the kind of man people could always count on. In the crane world, he was known as the one who could figure anything out. No matter how difficult the job seemed, Ray would find a way to make it work. He took pride in what he did and in being the person others turned to when something needed to get done. Even while facing illness, Ray never stopped being that person. He continued helping others whenever he could, showing the same determination and selflessness that defined his life.

Outside of work, Ray loved spending time with the people who meant the most to him. He enjoyed going to concerts with close friends, taking trips and exploring places like Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, playing disc golf, camping, wrangling livestock, and sharing countless adventures. Wherever Ray went, laughter and stories followed, and the friendships he built along the way were strong and lasting.

More than anything, Ray loved his family. He was deeply devoted to his wife and embraced her children and grandchildren with his whole heart. Being part of their lives meant everything to him, and he was proud of the family they built together.

Ray's strength, kindness, and willingness to help others will never be forgotten. In his final moments, the words he left behind were simple but said everything about the man he was: "I love you." He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Ray is loved and remembered by his wife Jamie Brown; his children Shawna, Taner, and Mason (Jen); his grandchildren Rayden, Harper, Braxton, Thomas,, and Kami; mother Pamela (John) Phelps; sisters Mistie and Terrie; also many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his father Daniel Brown and grandparents Raymond & Mabel Traud and Orlo & Dorthy Brown.
