Chris Perry

Chris Perry, 76, of Lapeer, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. She was born May 11, 1949, in Detroit to James and Dianne Connon.

A faithful member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lapeer, Chris lived a life devoted to family, faith, and community. She dedicated 37 years to Lapeer Community Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students through her kindness, patience, and steady encouragement.

Music was one of her lifelong passions. Chris was a proud member of Sweet Adelines International for 51 years and sang with the Fenton Lakes Chorus. She also worked part-time at the Lapeer District Library and generously volunteered for many years at the Pix Theatre.

Chris found joy in camping throughout Michigan, walking the Mackinac Bridge, sewing, cooking, and baking for those she loved. Her beautiful embroidery pieces will be cherished keepsakes for family and friends. Above all, she treasured her family and rarely missed a grandchild's sporting event or special moment.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Perry; her children, Todd (Maggie) Perry and Dianne Perry; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Jamison), Aiden (Nicole), Preston, Brendyn, Connor, Celia, Declan, and Elise; great-grandchild Porter and one on the way; and her brothers, John (Bev), Kevin (Wendy), and Jimmy (Mara) Connon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Heather Divian.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 24, at noon at Trinity Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Grant Lobb. Friends may visit from 10 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer District Library or the Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer.
