Marlene Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilderness Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Chinook on Feb. 20, 2026.
Marlene Lorraine Perry, 77, went to be with the Creator the morning of February 16, 2026, at her lifelong home on the Perry Ranch in between Hays and Lodgepole.

Marlene lived a long and adventurous life rooted deeply in the land she loved. She was known for her unmistakable sense of style and her strong cowgirl spirit. Marlene lived life the cowgirl way - with grit, grace, independence, and a touch of flair that made her unforgettable. Whether she was working on the ranch or spending time with friends and family, she carried herself with quiet strength and confidence. Her love for the land, her lifestyle, and her family defined who she was.

Marlene's world revolved around the love she had for her grandchildren. Each one shared a special bond with her. She opened her home to all of them, always making them feel welcomed and loved. Her last baby she raised, her pride and joy, Aidyn Hewankorn (War Hawk), held an especially treasured place in her heart. She cherished watching his basketball games and her baby girls Ahlizah Fawn and Zales Dance on the HLP Drill dance team an was their biggest supporter. She also loved her great grandson Rhydin Kruiz he was her little helper he knew exactly what she needed or wanted and always had his ear open listening for her to yell his name.

She enjoyed thrift shopping and hosting yard sales, finding joy in simple treasures and visiting with others. Marlene truly lived her life fully, and the time she spent was never wasted.

Marlene is survived by her life partner, Thomas Walker; her daughters, Marcie Lea Moore of Wyoming and Adrienne Lea Perry of Lodgepole, MT; her sisters, Jewel Perry of Harlem, MT, Carol Cochran of 3 Mile, Vernie Healy of Rodeo Drive, and Mayme Healy of Great Falls; her brother, Kirk Healy of Rodeo Drive; her beloved grandchildren, Justin Moore, Marty Moore, Tera Moore, Katie Moore, LaRae Gibson, William Snell Jr., Diana Snell, and Aidyn Hewankorn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vernie (Assiniboine) Perry; her sister, Bernice Perry; her brothers, Bimberly Healy, Mike Cliff, and Lawrence Cliff; her niece, Kaylynn Healy; her nephews, Delbert Wayne, Lonnie Cliff; and her grandchildren, Billie Snell and Jesse Snell.

A family viewing will be held in Chinook at Wilderness Funeral Home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., followed by a wake at the Perry residence shortly after. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow beside her parents, Albert and Vernie Perry.

God called Marlene home He knew how tired she was and knew her body had grown weary. She fulfilled her purpose here on this earth - as a mother, grandmother, partner, sister, and proud cowgirl. Her work here was done. Though she is no longer with us in the physical world, her spirit lives on in the land she loved, in the lessons she taught, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
