Charles R. Hull, 96, passed away June 10, 2024, in Zionsville. He was born January 20, 1928, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Retus & Ruth (Heckman) Hull.
Charles was a metallurgist with Allison Transmission for several years, retiring in 1988. He was married to Dolores May (Rose) Hull for 48 years before her death. Charles was a Boy Scout Troop 509 Leader for several years, and had an affinity for genealogy second to none. He even drafted his own genealogy software that was copied by several organizations.
Charles is survived by his son Tim (Rebecca) Hull, his daughter Deborah Hull-Orr, his brother Lowell Hull, and his grandson Ian Hull. He was preceded in death by his beloved Dolores, his brothers John and Kenneth Hull, his sisters Rosemary Starkey and Wilma Jean Fairfield, and his son-in-law David Orr.
Viewing will be 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville at 105 W. Pine Street in Zionsville, with funeral to begin at 11:30 a.m. Charles will be reunited with Dolores at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
