Dear Humphrey Family,
So sorry for your loss. I kept my boat on the lake right behind Ben's place in Haslett. I would always chat with Ben & Joyce when I saw them on their deck as I was coming and going to fish on the lake. This ritual went on for many years. He also always had the cat on the deck. I have many great memories of Ben and I am glad I got to meet him. He would always ask " How long have you been out on the lake" !

Dear Carl,Charlie, Carin and Christine, I feel honored and blessed to have so many positive memories of your father. Your father and your mother always made me feel loved and special when I was little . As I grew older I enjoyed the simple conversations that we often shared . I know your father will be watching over you now throughout the rest of your life from above. May God now give your father eternal rest.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your father, but praise God he is again with his sweet wife! I work at an engineering firm in Lansing, and Ben came in every week like clockwork because we were located in his territory. Even when he was unable to physically come in, he would check in via phone every week. He always spoke lovingly of Joyce and would always tell me when he had made the trip to go visit her grave.
In just the short amount of time I spent with him each week, I knew he was something special.

Sorry to hear of Ben's passing. He was a wonderful person. I was one of Ben's sales reps at Duro Supply during the 1980's. He always treated everyone with great respect and extremely helpful to all of us. I don't recall ever seeing Ben upset or angry. He was always in a good mood. It was a pleasure to work for him. I bet he's helping St Peter with something at those "Pearly Gates". Grant & Barb Cranes

Charlie and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. But what great memories I have of your folks & mine having fun on the trips to Mackinaw or out for fish on Friday nights. Remember our families coinciding trips to Florida our senior year?! Our parents had fun...we just wanted to get back to our respective social lives! God rest his soul. Peace to you. Fondly, Jolene

Carl, Charlie, Christine and Carin,
I am agreeing with Peggy Lee. Your Mom and Dad were so much fun to be with...always happy and having a good time with our neighborhood. We were so lucky to grow up on that block...great parties and good friends. Who doesn't remember Ben saying "wait awhile". We visited with him last November and at least once a month by phone. He will be missed as he was a special friend.
Love to Ben and Joyce, Carolyn Craves Johnson

My thoughts and prayers to Christine, Carin, Charles, Carl, and the rest of your family. We had such a great neighborhood growing up. Looking back at pictures and videos of the old neighborhood gatherings, Ben was always happy and joking around. I will always remember that about him. Those were crazy parties our parents had...great parties, great times, great friends. I suspect many of those neighbors (my dad included), were there to greet Ben right along side your mom. There's a neighborhood bash going on in heaven. Hold tight to your memories...may they help you through this difficult time. God bless you all.

Lessons from My Father....
My Father, Charles Benjamin Humphrey was THE most influential person in my life along with my Mother, Joyce J. Humphrey in molding the human being that I am today. I am indebted to my Father for the opportunities, lessons, and belief that he had in me. The lessons he instilled within me will be cherished and walked each day for the rest of my life.
Lessons like--love fiercely, overachieve, excel in everything I participate in, respect and treat all people equally, be a leader and set a positive example, and live each day as a beginner open to learning and experiencing.
F=Faith
A=Acceptance
T=Trust
H=Hope
E=Empathy
R=Respect
These are the attributes my Father embodied. I will strive to emulate the example of the honorable life he lived for 88 years.
My Father thought I was the best in everything I chose to do in my life., unconditional regard.
My comfort comes from knowing that you're with the love of your life, my Mother Joyce for eternity in Heaven!
"I will miss you Daddy and love and honor your legacy all the days of my life!
Love your baby, Christine
SALUTE
