Charles William "Chazz" Imes Jr.

Charles William "Chazz" Imes, Jr. passed from this life and became reunited with his soul mate and truest love: Judith Ann Imes, who was undoubtedly waiting for him with open arms on Wednesday, December 4th 2024, in Cumberland MD. He was surrounded by his adoring family who had the honor to call him Dad, Pap and Great Pap! His legacy will forever be the family that he built and the love that he shared with us all.
Chazz was the eldest son born to Charles William and Mary Katherine (Fretwell) Imes on October 19, 1940 in Cumberland MD. His immediate family included brothers: Robert Imes (deceased) as well as twin brothers Garry Imes, (Patti) Upper Marlboro and Larry Imes, Cumberland MD. Chazz attended LaSalle High school where he was a standout student athlete excelling in multiple sports winning many accolades, trophies and recognitions. It was during his high school years that he met, fell in love and eventually married the Love of his Life: Judith Ann Newman Imes who passed in October 2015. Chazz was of Catholic faith and attended St Peter and Paul Catholic Church as well as many other parishes in the community. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1958-1961. He was employed by Kelly Springfield Tire Company for the majority of his adult life and worked briefly for Hunter Douglass as well as his last employment for the Hawkins family driving a school bus for Allegany County schools which he thoroughly loved because children were what gave him his greatest joy.
Chazz and Judy's love produced 7 children. Their oldest and most beloved son, Charles William "Chucky" Imes III passed in 1965. Chazz is survived by daughter: Kelly Imes Robinson (Craig) their children: Kyle (Londan) granddaughter Charleigh, Cadyn, and Taylor; son: Todd Imes (Jamie) and children: Kai (Kayla) grandson Axell, Ian, Sean, Trinity, Chazz, Simmy, Eli, Julia and Lydia; Daughter Robin Imes Yoder (Dave) and children: Chad (Ashlyn) granddaughter Josie, Jared (Lauren) granddaughter Olive; Rodney Imes: sons: Carter and Carson his significant other Becky and children: Shane, Chad, Paige, and grandson Colson; Julie Imes Marrale (Mike) and children: Sloane, Morgan Fellner (Tyler) and Michael; Daughter: Hope Imes Harris (Jon) and children: Jona, Hunter and his special angel: Mya who passed in 2012.
In addition to his 7 children, 22 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, Chazz is blessed with an extended family of nieces, nephews, family and friends all of which he loved as his own.
During the last year and a half, he was a resident of Cumberland Healthcare Center where he befriended all the staff and residents with a special place in his heart for his caregivers Candy and Samantha whom he referred to as his "girls" They all affectionately called him Pappy! The Imes family would like to extend a huge thank you for all their love and care.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be conducted at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish Shrine of Saints Peter and Paul on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
