Melvin Imes Obituary
Born on April 9, 1949 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Melvin L. Imes, Sr and Helen I. (Hurrell) Imes.
He is survived by his sons, Brian K. Imes and wife, Amy J. and Kevin D. Imes and wife, Pattie L., siblings Gary L. Imes, Donald G. Imes, Beverly Swartz, Brenda Stimeling and husband, Lyndon and Barbara Myers. Melvin is also survived by grandchildren, David K. Imes and Derick J. Imes, a step-granddaughter, Dorri Lebkicher, a step great-granddaughter Alexandria McAlister, a step great-grandson Oden Lebkicher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Shirley Imes and Lisa Imes and a brother-in-law, Charles Myers.
Mr. Imes worked for Hempt Brothers. He attended A New Beginning Church. Melvin was a member of the NRA, and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching NASCAR races and liked to go on long drives and sight see. He was also an avid gun collector.
A closed casket funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 5th, 2026 at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with Pastor Dan Kerlin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Imes memory may be made to the A New Beginnings Community Church, 2118 Spruce Hill Road, Port Royal, PA 17082.
