Mr. Charles Jacobs

Reverend Charles Jacobs was born on February 17, 1949, in Alachua County, Florida, to the late Price and Willie Mae Jacobs. Known affectionately as "Jake," he was a man of unwavering faith, humility, and extraordinary dedication to God, family, and community.He faithfully served the Alachua County Sheriff's Office for over 25 years, retiring with distinction as a respected and honored public servant. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Reverend Jacobs lived a life of quiet strength and deep conviction, driven by an unshakable calling to serve his Heavenly Father.For over four decades, Reverend Jacobs served in ministry at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church, where he humbly rose from Deacon to Licensed Minister of the Gospel. His unwavering devotion to God's work was evident in every aspect of his life-whether behind the pulpit, in the prayer room, or walking alongside others in their spiritual journeys.We also acknowledge with love and honor his lifelong brotherhood and fellowship with his Pastor and Friend, Pastor Daniel McNish, of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church. Their bond stood as a testament to loyalty in ministry and faith.He is survived by: His devoted wife of over 60 years, Mrs. Linda Jacobs; Four beloved children and their spouses: Herman and Linitra Robinson (Palatka, FL), Ricky and Charlene Robinson (High Springs, FL), Charles Jr and Erica Jacobs. (Jacksonville, FL), Dr. Fredrick and Dr. Taja Jacobs (Gainesville, FL); Thirteen cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; His loving siblings: Elzie Jacobs (Gainesville, FL), Rebecca Jacobs Camps, Betty Jacobs, and Diane Jacobs (Alachua, FL); and a Legacy of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual sons and daughters, extended family, and devoted friends.Reverend Jacobs's life was marked by integrity, compassion, and unshakable faith. His legacy will echo through generations-through those he mentored, loved, and lifted.
