Charles Lester Johnson, age 91, of Caldwell County, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, Kentucky. He was born on May 2, 1934, in Charleston, Kentucky to the late Charlie Johnson and Bessie Purdy Johnson. Mr. Johnson had worked as a loader of chemical trucks at Union Carbide in Illinois for 32 years. He was a member of Charleston Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters ~ Betty Kay Ladd and Joann Wise and a brother ~ Billy Wayne (Anna) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents; a sister ~ Aretta Boucher; a nephew ~ Charlie Johnson and a friend who was like a sister ~ Loretta “Sibbie” Poole.
Visitation for Charles Lester Johnson will be from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Lafayette Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky with Rev. Jackie Mathis officiating the service.
