He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Malcomb and Mary Keener; brothers, Wilburn and Raymond Keener.
Survivors include his loving wife Sandra Ballew Keener of Murfreesboro, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Shay Keener; brother, Neil Keener of Chatsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Bill Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Cassius Keener, Keisha and Jim English, Kolby and Blake Hammontree, Kelcey and Devin Slayton; and great-grandchildren, Huntley Hammontree and Cloe and Charley Slayton.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles E. (Eddie) Keener will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Tuesday from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.

Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Charles E. (Eddie) Keener.

Eddie was a fine person and always so fun to be around. Saw him and sandy every year at the beach always the 1st one at the pool so he could get a good table. My mom thought the world of him always arguing with him for fun. He was so much fun to be around and he loved to go out and try new places to eat
