Charles Bruce Kennedy "Chuck", age 78, of both Circle Pines and Walker, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving bride Cindy, daughters Sheila, Shannon and Shelly. He just celebrated his 78th birthday on September 15th. He was born in 1946, the son of Charles and Blanche (Williams) Kennedy in the small town of Pipestone, MN. Chuck was able to say goodbye to all his grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and nieces before his journey to his heavenly home.
Chuck was not only a wonderful husband and dad, but he was also friends to many people. He gave back to his community wherever he called home. In Circle Pines he served on the Circle Pines Volunteer Fire Department, and in Walker he served two different terms as commander of the Walker American Legion Post #134. Chuck was a passionate member of the Walker American Legion Honor Guard and could play taps like non other.
He enjoyed serving his country, he enjoyed serving his community, but most of all, he enjoyed serving his family and loving his bride. The two of them loved traveling and watching sports together. Chuck touched the lives of anyone he encountered, and he showed his patriotism in everyday life.
The family that Chuck joins again are his parents; Charles and Blanch and many that have gone on before him.
Those he leaves behind to miss his laughter are his bride; Cynthia Kennedy of Circle Pines, MN daughters; Sheila Kennedy of Circle Pines, MN, Shannon (Welby) Sheats of Lino Lakes, MN, and Shelly (Tad) Asp of Hayward, WI, siblings; Sue (Chuck) Harlow of Little Sauk, MN, David Kennedy of Georgia, Gary (Connie) Kennedy of Walker, MN, Laurie (Rod) Hooker of Lake Alice, MN, and Elsbeth Baker of Elk River, MN, grandchildren; Sheena (Jeff), Austin (Marivel), Tyler (Carly), Logan, great grandchildren; Addian, Karsyn, Skyler, Colson, many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and Tazzy Boy "The Cat".
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
A Celebration of life for Chuck will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Walker American Legion Post #134. Military honors will be accorded by his brothers of the Walker American Legion Honor Guard.
Chucks care has been entrusted to the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN. Online condolences for the family may be given at www.northernpeace.com
