He was preceded in death by his daughter Jenny Korns, his father Bill Korns and step mother Janet Korns, his step father John Bunn, his sister Janice Korns, and brothers-in-law, Steve Johnson and Tim Ingersoll.
Charles Eugene Korns was born August 8, 1961 in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of William Franklin Korns and Doris Ann Rhodes Bunn. He received his education in the BGM schools and graduated with the Class of 1979. Charlie worked at Doc's Automotive as a mechanic, then went to work at the Pit Stop. From there he went to work at the NAPA Auto parts store in Brooklyn. Charlie was a quiet guy, but he would do anything for his family or his friends. He enjoyed Sprint Car Racing and he and his son Blain always attended the Nationals in Knoxville. He rode motorcycles and many of his activities revolved around the cycle crowd. His tinkering in areas served him well, as he seemed to always "get it working". He loved camping and was very much at home with his family around the campfire and swapping stories. He was frugal and resourceful, finding a recycled purpose for so many things. He was quite talented in the crafting field, producing many wonderful gifts for his family and friends. He wrote several poems as a tribute to his daughter Jenny. Charlie was well known in the community. He restored a 1970 El Camino and loved to go to car shows. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
