Charles Mark Lake, age 65, of Barnett, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Eldon Nursing and Rehab. He was born December 2, 1960, in Versailles, a son of the late James Carl and Dixie June (Charles) Lake.

On March 19, 1988, at the Bethel Mennonite Church, he was united in marriage to Donita R. Yoder, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2024.

In his earlier years, when his sons were young, Mark served as a Cub Scout leader and later as their Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed supporting them by attending their sporting events over the years. Mark had an arcade business and traveled the lake area repairing the machines as needed. He was also a skilled mechanic, working for Jim Dornan Chevrolet in Versailles for many years.

Mark was an avid collector. He had a passion for collecting train memorabilia. He also enjoyed spending time completing puzzles and working concessions at the Royal Theatre in Versailles. He was a lover of animals and his dogs were constant companions and a source of comfort and happiness.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Brice Lake and wife Courtney and Charles Lake and fiancée Brandi Stone all of Barnett, Missouri; grandchildren, Bailey Lake and Colby Lake; brother, Scott Lake and wife Carolyn of Adrian, Missouri; nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carla Herndon and nephew, Shaun Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 16th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery near Barnett. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
