Ruth Lee Hees, age 86, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO on March 13, 2026 after a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1939 in Eldon, MO to Lester and Opal (Boan) Vernon. Ruth attended the Vernon and Harmony Schools and graduated from School of the Osage High School in 1957. On June 16, 1957 in Eldon, MO, Ruth was united in marriage to Carl Hees, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2024.

Ruth is survived by son, Michael Hees and wife Debra of Barnett, Missouri. Two grandchildren, Aaron Hees and wife Megan, and Andrea Davis and husband Dylan of Eldon, Missouri. Four great- grandchildren, Mason and Avah Hees and Mack and Deacon Davis of Eldon, Missouri, and another great-grandchild to be born in May. Sisters, Marie Pieper of Eldon, MO, and Doris Lambeth and husband Larry of Carthage, MO. Brothers, Frank Vernon and wife Candy of Jefferson City, MO and Don Vernon and wife Laslee of Eldon, MO. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.

During Ruth's early years, she worked at Bartlett's Café at Lake Ozark. To her family and friends, she was known as Ruthie. Ruth and her sisters formed a trio and sang at school pie suppers and revivals in the area. In high school, Ruth was part of a trio which received a "1" rating at state music contest. She also sang in a trio with her sisters-in-law for church services. She was a member of Aurora Springs Baptist Church and also enjoyed serving in the nursery there.

To her family, she will be remembered for her hospitality, decorating, food, and beautiful flowers.

Services for Ruth Hees will be held at the Eldon First Baptist Church on Thursday, March 19, 2026 with visitation 9:00 a.m.-11:00, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the Eldon First Baptist Church or Eldon Friends of Music.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
