Charles Lamb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Browning Funeral Home - Evansville on Feb. 21, 2026.
Charles Wayne "Dude" Lamb, age 77, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at home on Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on May 28, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Lillian (Powell) Lamb. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a young man, Charles worked as a caddie, a job that sparked his passion for the game of golf. He later went on to have a fulfilling career, retiring as a field technician at Culligan of Evansville after many years of dedicated service.

Charles found joy in drag racing, shooting sports, and, of course, golfing. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom he adored. His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones will be missed dearly.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra "Sandy" Lamb; daughters, Debra Monyhan (Clyde) and Dawn Ommart (Darrell); sister, Mary Adams (David); brother, Don "Sonny" Lamb; grandchildren, Corey, Chris, Brittney, Brooke, Charles and Trae; Great grandchildren, Abigail, Victoria, Aibry, Cruze, Cooper, Chace, Cash and Hector; Great-great grandchildren, Caiden and Raelynn.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Winnie Lou Gibson; and brothers, Paul Lamb, Lee Lamb and Raymond Lamb.

A celebration of Dude's life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Josiah Nichols officiating. The Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military honors.

Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Keck Church, 1565 Keck Ave, Evansville, IN 47711.
