Charles Leon Lambert

Charles Leon Lambert, 85, of Albany, GA passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Adam Swann will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lambert was born in Gadsden, AL on April 2, 1938 to the late Charles Ernest Lambert and Grace Edge Lambert. He graduated from Gadsden High School and came to Albany, GA with his sister, Jamie and her husband when he was eighteen after the loss of his father.

Leon was a draftsman and worked at the MCLB until he left in the eighties to build homes. After the housing market went awry, he returned to MCLB and retired at seventy-two with forty-two years of service.

Leon is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Rhonda Vaughn Lambert, a daughter, Denise Miller and son-in-law, Matt Miller and a granddaughter, Sarah Grace Miller.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his siblings, Opal Lambert Bolton (Grover), Ophelia Lambert Hampton (Thomas), Jamie Lambert Swann (Bill) and Glenna Lambert Gregg (Marlon).

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:00 am until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
