Charles E. Leager II, Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Bayhealth-Sussex Campus, he was 84. Mr. Leager was born in Ridgely, MD to the late, Robert W. and Jessie A. Leager.

Mr. Leager was a farmer his entire life. Farming was in his blood and he was most content working on his farm and putting in an honest day's work. He was also passionate about harness horse racing. He loved to train his horses, and two of his favorites were Gemini Jack and Ripping Black.

When he wasn't busy farming, breeding cows, or training horses, Mr. Leager spent his time in his garden. He also loved his dogs, and enjoyed training his border collies to help around the farm with his cattle. Above all, Mr. Leager loved his family dearly, and always made sure to provide for them and passed down solid work ethics. He will be sadly missed.

Mr. Leager was a member of the Farm Bureau and the United States Trotting Assoc.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sue Shahan; and siblings, Robert "Bob" Wilson Jr., Beverly Carter.
