With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved child, Charles Corbitt Lewis, who was taken from us too soon on August 29, 2024 at the tender age of 14. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Charlie was born on September 25, 2009 in Gallipolis, OH. He was beloved by his parents Amanda and Shane Lewis.
Charlie attended Alexander High School where he was just beginning his freshman year. He played percussion all through middle school and enjoyed participating in musicals. He loved his friends dearly. He was a proud junior volunteer firefighter and loved having a unit number that he shared with his father (1641).
He loved spending time with his family and traveling the world. He was a wonderful brother who took pride in his sister, Harlow Lewis, and enjoyed teaching her new skills. He loved playing board games and video games with his family. He had a passion for science and questioned everything. He was an avid reader and read almost any book he could get his hands on. He loved sharing facts with others that he thought they would enjoy and was a compassionate friend who was always ready to cheer up those in need. He loved climbing trees and could frequently be found reading a book in his favorite tree. He loved being outdoors and playing frisbee, football or baseball in the yard with his family. Charlie was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He had so much to offer and the world is a better place for having had him in it. Charlie was loved by all who knew him.
Charlie is survived by his parents, Amanda Lewis and Shane Lewis; his sister, Harlow Lewis; his maternal grandmothers, Angela Cowles and Connie Perrine; his paternal grandparents, Carol and Jeff Lewis, and Lisa and Mitch Bable; his aunts, Megan Cowles, Jessica Cowles, Victoria Cowles, Kristen Trout and Olivia Freeman. He is also survived by many cousins, including; Ava Cowles, Lincoln and Lana Stodola, Nova and Aria Cowles and Layla, Amelia and Hazely Freeman.
