Charles R Lloyd Sr, 90, passed away August 6, 2025. He was born March 29, 1935 in Indianapolis, to parents, Alvie and Bessie ( Miller ) Lloyd.
Charles grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Washington high school. He then joined the United States Navy. He served for four years.
When he returned from the military, he took a job at Ford automotive as a cutter grinder and eventually was elected a union representative for many years before retiring.
On November 26, 1971 he married the love of his life, Imogene A. (Nickpon). They shared 52 years of life together.
Charles enjoyed his family, camping, boating, fishing, and golf. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge.
Charles is survived by his children, Terrie (George), Rick, Tim, Ron, Tammi (Ryan), and Rob. His grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene, his children, Tina and Tony and his siblings, Emily, Kenny, and Jeri.
Charles visitation will be Saturday, September 13, from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. His memorial mass will begin at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park cemetery following the mass. At the cemetery, he will also have a veteran sendoff and a Masonic apron ceremony from the Mystic Circle #685, where he was raised to Master Mason in January of 1967.
