Charles Nelson Luster, age 65, of Winding Star Road in Irvine, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness. He was born January 5, 1960, in Madison County, and was the son of the late Luther and Lillie May Dozier Luster. He was a retired CSX employee and attended the West Frankfort Church of God. He was a member of the Appalachian Past Masters Society. He was a talented guitar player and musician. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle, riding horses, camping and fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He had lived in Estill County most of his life. He is survived by:

3 daughters: Misty Dawn Luster (Gus) - Florida

Linzi (Jeff) Peavler - Lawrenceburg

Lena (Brandon) Spaulding - Indiana

2 sons: Taylor Brandenburg - Lexington

Dylan (Ashley) Brandenburg- Mississippi

1 sister: Goldie Hiton - Estill Co.

2 brothers: Doug (Shirley) Luster - Madison Co.

Paul (Brenda) Luster - Estill Co.

6 grandchildren: Sadie, Stormy, Alex, Addison, Madison, and Austin

Special great-nephew: Tom Beasley

A host of loved nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Debbie Luster, Joyce Peters, and 4 brothers, James, Bill, Donald, and Kenneth Howard Luster.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 1 PM at the Outreach Church. Located at 222 Rice Station Road in Irvine.
