A Grateful American
December 30, 2016
Though our grateful nation mourns with you in your loss, we can only feel a small part of the loss you are experiencing.
Your loved one will always be a part of our country's story. As such, their sacrifice on behalf of our nation will always be honored.

Mr. Manganaro was a true gentleman. He had both a tender heart and a quick wit. He was very devoted to his family. He worked hard and late into his life. What struck me probably the most about Charlie was his unwavering faith. He was a man of God. He looked forward to going to Mass on Sundays and always put on his best threads. He said the most beautiful prayers before meals and saw to it that we all held hands when doing so. He was proud of his service in the Navy during WWII. People say that a good measure of one's character is what people say about you when you are not around. Well, when speaking to his former coworkers and clients, both praised him exuberantly at the mere mention of his name. Even his fellow residents at the Pinecrest Independent Living facility in NC had dubbed him, "Prince Charles." It didn't take long for them to figure him out. He was a sweetheart, a gentle soul, a prince of a guy. It is little wonder why Charlie was loved by so many. I too believe it was my distinct privilege to have known him. Rest in peace, Mr. Manganaro. May the angels lead you into Paradise.
