Charles E. Marks Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Marion. Charles was born on April 9, 1949, in Marion, to the late Charles Sr and Ruth (Donaldson) Marks. He graduated from Marion High School, and retired from Foster Forbes. Charles married Jerri J. (Baker) Marks, she preceded him in death on August 2, 2022.
Charles was a proud Army Veteran. He completed two tours, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Air Medal, Sharpshooter (rifle), and the Purple Heart.
Charles was a family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his Harley. Charles was a set, determined, stubborn, kind big-hearted man, with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his children, Christina (Randy) Myers, Rockville; Charles Marks III, Rockville; Christina (Charles) Moore, Pierceton; Kimberly (Paul) Wigner, Fairmount; Lisa (Kirby Callahan) Gray, Gas City; and Heather Oden, Wabash; grandchildren, Damion, Austin, Cheyenne, Chance, Tristan, Noah, Christopher, Lexie, Isiah, Jade, Riley, Brayden, Nathaniel, Hannah, Tyler, Katelyn, Jonathan, Dakota, Kyle, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Azreal, Charlie, and Rowan; and sister, Gwen Phelps.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Maxine Eib; and great-grandson, Jordan.
Arrangements for Charles have been entrusted to the Mississinewa Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 200 North 7th Street, Gas City, Indiana 46933, 765-382-7701, there will be no services at this time per Charles' wishes.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Charles to the funeral home to help the family defray expenses.
